My Arms


I want to be the one to hold you
I want it to be my arms that wrap around you
I want you to snuggle in my arms when you feel lonely
I want my arms to clasp you tight when you are scared
I want my arms to embrace you when you are happy
I want my arms around your neck when our lips touch
I want my arms to pull you near me in bed
I want you to wake up happy in my arms
I want my arms to balance the coffee while I hug you good morning
I want you to dance in my arms
I want to be the one to hold you

But if I can't be the one to hold you,
If it's not my arms that wrap around you,
May you know that should the arms that hold you ever let go,
It will be my arms that will be held open waiting for you.
